McALLEN, Texas – Former ULM men’s basketball player Jamaal Samuel has been drafted by the NBA Development League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers, with the New Orleans native taken with the No. 39 overall pick in today’s NBA D-League Draft.
Samuel, a 6-9 forward, becomes the third player off last year’s Warhawk squad to now play professionally, joining Majok Deng and Justin Roberson. Deng is currently playing professionally in Australia, while Roberson is playing in Switzerland.
“I am very happy for Jamaal, just as I am for Majok and Justin,” ULM head coach Keith Richard stated.
