Chanticleers Use the Long Ball to Top Warhawks

Monroe, La. - Coastal Carolina collected four home runs to push past ULM 13-3 in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams Friday night at Warhawk Field.

Coastal Carolina claimed a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Scott McKeon dropped a bloop single into right field, scoring Kieton Rivers. ULM answered in the bottom of the frame when reached on a single that dropped into right center field due to miscommunication between CCU center fielder Rivers and right fielder Jake Wright. Wurm advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt from and scored when reached on an error to tie the game at 1.
