MONROE, La. – The ULM baseball team escaped a first inning jam while putting up five runs in their own half of the inning, and made it stand up in an 8-4 win over Southeastern Louisiana Tuesday night at Warhawk Field.
Southeastern had the first crack at breaking the game open, as they loaded the bases on two errors and a hit batsman to begin the game. However, ULM starting pitcher Tyler Lien, making his first collegiate appearance since 2018, was picked up by his defense as Wiley Cleland snagged Champ Artigues' line drive and flipped the ball to second baseman Colin Gordon to double off Tyler Finke for the first two outs of the inning.
