Monroe, La. - Appalachian State seized control from the opening tip-off and never relented, cruising to an 80-58 win over the ULM women's basketball team Saturday afternoon inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
The Mountaineers (11-9 overall, 5-4 Sun Belt Conference) scored 17 of the first 21 points to lead 17-4 off a 3-pointer by Tierra Wilson with 2:13 left in the first quarter. ULM (7-13, 1-8) was never closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
"They did hit some tough shots here or there to their credit, started out hot at 50 percent from the field, mixing in a couple threes in the first quarter," head coach Jeff Dow said.
