THIBODAUX, La. -- The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team fell by a 4-1 final at Nicholls State on Saturday morning.
Due to inclement weather conditions, the two teams started the match with singles and did not play doubles.
The Cajuns record fell to 8-7 on the season.
At No. 4 singles, Nicholls State's Laia Charles defeated junior Dana Brankovic, 6-2, 6-0. Julia Melezndez topped sophomore Kelly Drew, 7-5, 6-2 in straight sets at the No. 2 spot.
The Cajuns got on the scoreboard at No. 6 as junior Alexandra Way prevailed, 6-2, 6-2 in consecutive sets over Andrea Mastrippolito.
