LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team celebrated the 2015-16 season and honored numerous student-athletes at the team's annual banquet at First Baptist Church Tuesday evening.
Emceed by Ragin' Cajuns radio play-by-play announcer, Steve Peloquin, the program reflected on and celebrated one of its most successful seasons in the history of Cajuns women's basketball. Guided by 2016 Louisiana Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year Garry Brodhead, Louisiana completed a 25-win season, capped off with a second-straight Women's Basketball Invitational Championship. The 25 wins matched the most victories in the history of the program, while the 2016 WBI title gave the Cajuns their first set of back-to-back postseason championships since the program's inception in 1971-72.
