BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Louisiana's Dominique Williams posted a personal-best as he led a 1-3 finish in the men's weight throw while freshman Hannes Burger claimed the men's 3,000-meter run as Ragin' Cajuns track and field team claimed the lead after the first day of the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships on Monday at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Kyle Baudoin and Graham Sokol each claimed all-conference honors in their respective events as Louisiana scored 41.5 points to take the first-day lead in men's events.
On the women's side, the Ragin' Cajuns received a fifth-place performance from Frankie Griffin in the high jump and a seventh-place finish from the women's distance medley relay team to earn six points after five events.
