LSU had an answer every time the Louisiana-Lafayette baseball team applied pressure, and the Ragin’ Cajuns dropped an 8-5 decision in the Wally Pontiff Jr. Classic on Tuesday night at Zephyr Field.
The Cajuns (12-9) have lost three straight games.
The Cajuns scratched across a run in the top of the first inning when leadoff hitter Stefan Trosclair drew a leadoff walk, stole second base, then took third and scored on wild pitches by LSU starter Cole McKay.
LSU responded with back-to-back two-out doubles in the third inning from Kramer Robertson and Jake Fraley against Cajuns starter Evan Guillory (1-3).
