STATESBORO, Ga. – For the second consecutive start Summer Ellyson fired a shutout and the offense manufactured a pair of late runs leading No. 10 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball to a 2-0 win over Georgia Southern on Friday at Eagle Field.
The Ragin' Cajuns (27-4, 10-0 Sun Belt) used an RBI ground out from Lexie Comeaux in the sixth inning to end a scoreless affair which had carried on during due to key defensive plays made by the Eagles (16-16, 3-7 Sun Belt).
Alissa Dalton's two-out triple in the seventh inning led to an insurance run when she scored off a misplay at home on an attempted steal.
