HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Southern Miss exploded for five runs on a pair of fifth-inning homers to knock off UL-Lafayette 7-2 on Tuesday night at Pete Taylor Park.
Ragin’ Cajuns sophomore right-hander Evan Guillory (4-4) gave up six runs on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts in five innings.
Jake Winston (5-0) tossed 2.1 scoreless innings in relief.
Dylan Burdeaux went 3-for-5 with two runs for the Golden Eagles. Tim Lynch homered and had a game-high three RBIs, and Southern Miss (30-12) outhit the Ragin’ Cajuns 10-5.
Kyle Clement was 2-for-3 with a double and two walks for UL-Lafayette (27-14).
