LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns head soccer coach Scot Wieland announced on Thursday the signing of seven student-athletes to a National Letter of Intent for the 2016 season.
Joining the Ragin' Cajuns are midfielders Celine Rumpf (Huenfelden, Germany), Melanie Groves (Bakersfield, Calif.), Ashley Newland (Folsom, Calif.) and Jessica Hernandez (Pflugerville, Texas), defenders Erika Sierra (Bakersfield, Calif.) and Kaylie Powell (Vidor, Texas), and goalkeeper Mackenzie Lee (Kingwood, Texas).
"This is a very talented group that not only adds depth in some critical areas but makes us technically and athletically better," Wieland said. "This group brings in a lot of experience nationally and internationally, and all are expected to compete immediately for play time.
