LAFAYETTE — Louisiana-Lafayette senior guard Tyrone Wooten will not return for his second year with the program, a team spokesman announced Wednesday afternoon.
Wooten, who transferred to the Cajuns from Itawumba Community College, averaged 2.7 points in 7.3 minutes per game in his lone season with the Cajuns.
He received one start early in the season, but his minutes were drastically cut shortly thereafter. Wooten never played more than nine minutes in any game after the calendar flipped to 2016.
He becomes the latest player to leave in what’s been a sort of mass exodus from the Cajuns program following the conclusion of the 2015-16 season.
