NEW ORLEANS, La. – Louisiana senior left-hander Colten Schmidt was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Schmidt is the seventh player in program history to earn multiple Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week in the same season and joins Gunner Leger and Hunter Moody as the only players to do so in back-to-back weeks.
The LaPorte, Texas native had a career outing against West Division leader UT Arlington tossing eight shutout innings to claim his third victory of the year.
