LAFAYETTE — UNO dominated Louisiana-Lafayette in its home park until the seventh-inning stretch, and then the game turned completely on its heels.
Trailing by three runs in the bottom of the seventh, the Cajuns connected on back-to-back home runs off Privateers starter Bryan Warzek to spark a four-run, go-ahead rally. The Cajuns tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning to take control and win 7-4 at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.
Warzek completely baffled the Cajuns (5-3) for 6.1 innings, allowing just two infield singles while striking out six, but he was pulled after the back-to-back home runs.
