THIBODAUX — UL-Lafayette rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to post a 5-4 win over Nicholls State on Tuesday night at Ray E. Didier Field.
The Ragin’ Cajuns loaded the bases in the top of the ninth on three consecutive one-out singles by Joe Robbins, Brian Mills and Brad Antchak.
Following a Stefan Trosclair strikeout, Nick Thurman drove the first pitch he saw from Nicholls reliever Robbie Petty back up the middle to score two runs, and a misplay by Smith in center field allowed Antchak to score from first, putting the Cajuns in front 5-4.
