MALIBU, Calif. — Jett Raines scored 21 on 8-of-11 shooting, Stacy Davis added 17 points and 12 rebounds and Pepperdine beat Louisiana-Lafayette 79-59 on Friday night.
Davis hit a 3-ponter with 12:31 left that capped a 12-0 run and gave Pepperdine a 57-41 lead. The Waves (7-4) maintained a double-digit edge the rest of the way to win their fifth straight heading into a West Coast Conference opener at Gonzaga on Monday.
Louisiana-Lafayette (3-6) took control with an 8-2 run to start the game and played back-and-forth with Pepperdine late in the first half and early in the second.
