BATON ROUGE – Paced by season-high totals of 10 aces and 14 blocks Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball defeated Southern University 3-1 (25-16, 25-10, 27-29, 25-16) on Tuesday at Clifford Seymour Gym.
Louisiana (6-2) nearly doubled the Jaguars in kills (27-14) and held the hosts to a negative hitting percentage over the first two sets in building the lead.
Southern (0-7) landed 17 kills in the third set and fought off a late rally from the Ragin' Cajuns to win in extra points and extend the match. Louisiana wasted little time grabbing the momentum in the decisive fourth frame, scoring five kills and an ace in racing out to a 6-1 lead.
