LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball earned a winning record in pre-conference tournament play following the conclusion of the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic at Earl K. Long Gym.
Louisiana (5-2) completed the event 3-1, securing the winning mark after a straight sets sweep (26-24, 25-19, 25-13) of Sam Houston State. The Ragin' Cajuns landed 52 kills on a .328 percentage and never faced a deficit in topping the Bearkats.
Houston (8-0) was able to fend off a strong surge from the Ragin' Cajuns in posting a 3-1 (25-13, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20) win in the tournament finale. Boosted by 30 kills over the final two sets, the Ragin' Cajuns were able to extend the match to a fourth set.
