SAN DIEGO – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Volleyball fell just short of extending its match against 16th-ranked USC on Friday at the SDSU/USD Challenge.
The Ragin' Cajuns (7-5) and Trojans (7-3) battled through 12 ties and a pair of lead changes in the third set. Kills from and allowed Louisiana to keep pace in the late stages, drawing ties at 20-and 21-all.
USC, though, was able to fend off Louisiana's push, winning the final three rallies to complete the 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-22) victory.
Louisiana forced USC to dig out of an 8-5 deficit in the opening set, then it wasn't until a four-point run, which snapped a tie at 10-10, that the Trojans were able to seize control.
