NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns cross country team was picked to finish fifth overall in men's competition and eighth in women's as the Sun Belt Conference released its preseason poll on Wednesday in advance of the 2018 season.
Louisiana, ranked No. 14 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region poll, received 56 points in a vote by the league's head coaches and was picked to finish behind preseason favorite UTA (95 points), Appalachian State (90), South Alabama (75) and Texas State (63).
The Ragin' Cajuns tallied 62 points in the women's 12-team field and was picked ahead of Little Rock, Georgia Southern, Troy and ULM.
