LAFAYETTE – A 6-0 season-opening weekend, punctuated by a sweep of Pac-12 foe Cal, has lifted Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball into a higher slot in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
Louisiana moved up two spots from its preseason ranking in the NFCA poll, climbing to No. 13.
The Ragin' Cajuns made their largest gain in the ESPN.com/USA Softball ranking, rising up five spots from their preseason selection to No. 13 in the Week 1 edition.

Louisiana opened the 2019 season, the second campaign under Gerry Glasco's guidance, last weekend with dominant pitching performances and powerful swings in outscoring foes 65-4 in the Ragin' Cajuns Classic at Lamson Park.
