LAFAYETTE — This has happened before with the Louisiana-Lafayette baseball team chasing a championship.
An opposing team decided to intentionally walk Kyle Clement to bring Stefan Trosclair to the plate with the winning run in scoring position. Against Louisiana-Monroe on Friday, just like he did against South Alabama in last year’s Sun Belt Conference tournament championship game, Trosclair delivered the big hit.
His double to the left-center field gap with one out in the bottom of the 11th made the Ragin’ Cajuns 6-5 winners, clinching their ninth straight series win and keeping their hopes of a conference title alive.
