STARKVILLE, Miss. – Onyi Echegini scored a pair of first-half goals and Andrea Tyrrell added an insurance goal after intermission to lead Mississippi State to a 3-1 victory over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team on Sunday at the MSU Soccer Field.
Louisiana (9-7-1), playing its second match of the spring against SEC competition, was held to two shots in the contest – both by freshman g – with her first career goal cutting the Bulldog lead to 2-1 in the 64 minute.
Mississippi State (3-4-3) took a 1-0 lead in the 23 minute on Echegini's unassisted goal past Louisiana starting goalkeeper before adding her second goal 13 minutes later off an assist from Hailey Farrington-Bentil.
