METAIRIE, La. -- Tenth-ranked LSU defeated the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, 8-5, in the 13th Wally Pontiff Jr. Foundation Classic in front of more than 10,000 Tuesday evening at Zephyr Field.
The Tigers improved to 15-5 with the win while the Cajuns dropped to 12-9. LSU returns to action Thursday for its second Southeastern Conference series of the season at Texas A&M.
