LAFAYETTE – A change in venue due to rainy conditions could not hold back the Ragin' Cajuns, who battled their way to a 4-3 thrilling victory over Prairie View A&M on Thursday.
After dropping the doubles point, Louisiana got wins from its last four courts, including a match-sealing victory on Court 6 from Angel Santiago (6-3, 2-6, 6-2).
Lucie Raquin and Tanisha Kashyap picked up a 6-3 win in doubles play before Prairie View won the final two matches in double play to go ahead 1-0.
Momoko Yoshimura quickly took care of Ruju Chauhan, 6-2, 6-1, in singles play before Carla Urchoeguia (6-4, 6-2) and Kashyap (6-2, 6-2) propelled the Cajuns to a 3-1 lead.
