LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Baseball used two unconventional runs and road another stellar effort from its pitching staff to claim victory in the series opener against Georgia State, taking down the Panthers, 2-0, at Russo Park on Friday night.
Riding the arms of pitchers Jack Burk and Austin Perrin, the Ragin' Cajuns (23-28, 11-14) saw the duo strike out 11 batters with just one walk to secure a second consecutive shutout victory and the third on the year.
Burk went 5.0 innings in the contest, allowing just two hits and fanning six to earn his third win of the season.
