Louisiana Golf Splits Pair Of Decisions At Inaugural Southern Collegiate Match Play

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team split a pair of decisions at the inaugural Southern Collegiate Match Play on Saturday at the par-71, 6,902-yard Hattiesburg Country Club.

In the morning match, the Cajuns fell to South Alabama 4-1. After falling behind 2-0, senior Fernando Cruz Valle claimed a point for Louisiana defeating Peter Staalbo, 4 & 3. The Jaguars went on to take the final two points of the match on the 18th hole to send the Ragin' Cajuns to the consolation match.

Louisiana claimed a 3-2 victory over host Southern Miss in the consolation match.
