LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Women's Tennis dropped its season opener on Saturday afternoon, falling on the road to Mississippi State by a final score of 7-0.
Lucie Raquin highlighted the day with a 7-6 decision in her first set over the Bulldogs' No. 1 Emma Antonaki. Raquin's match went three sets, where she fell in a third-set tiebreaker.
In doubles play, Carla Urchoeguia and Momomko Yoshimura were leading 4-3 over Antonaki and Tamara Racine before their match went unfinished.
The Ragin' Cajuns return to action on Friday, Feb. 4, when they host Southern at Cajun Courts.
