LAFAYETTE – Louisiana extended its winning streak to five games in style on Friday evening, outhitting Loyola Marymount, 9-4, and riding two masterful performances on the mound en route to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Lions at Russo Park.
The Ragin' Cajuns (6-7) jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the first four innings, while relying on the hot arms of Gunner Leger and Brandon Young, who combined to strike out 13 batters.
Leger earned his first win of the season with a stellar performance and tied the all-time career starts record at 52 with Hunter Moody and Eric Templet in the process.
