HOUSTON - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis team increased its winning streak to three matches with a solid 4-1 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center in Houston on the campus of Rice University.
The Ragin' Cajuns (4-1) raced out to a 3-0 match lead, then put a stop to a potential comeback from the Islanders (5-2) when Vasil Dimitrov closed the deal on Court 5 by claiming a marathon tiebreaker (13-11) in the second set.
Louisiana dominated in doubles, taking the first step to capturing the point with Oriol Fillat Gimenez and Dimitrov teaming up for a 6-1 win on Court 2 followed by the clincher from Karlo Kajin and Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez with a 6-2 decision on Court 1.
