LAFAYETTE — Contrary to an April 11 report, Louisiana-Lafayette redshirt freshman forward Jerekius Davis will be back next season.
A school spokesman confirmed Friday afternoon that Davis would be returning to the program for the 2016-17 season. The school did not comment on the April 11 report from verbalcommits.com that said Davis was “leaving the program.”
The 6-foot-6 Davis, who was a highly-touted member of the Cajuns 2015 signing class, redshirted last season.
He averaged nearly 25 points and 11 rebounds per game as a senior at Provine High School in Jackson, Mississippi, and Marlin said at his season in review press conference that he believes Davis will be a cog in the Cajuns rotation next season.
