LAFAYETTE, La. – South Alabama exploded for an eight-run first inning as the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team dropped the series finale to the Jaguars 11-5 on Sunday afternoon at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
Freshman left-hander Austin Perrin suffered the loss for the Ragin' Cajuns (6-9) after giving up eight runs (three earned) on five hits with a walk in 0.1 innings. South Alabama starter Chase Shell earned the victory going 5.1 innings with four runs on six hits, a walk and five strikeouts.
The Cajuns outhit South Alabama (9-7) 10-9, but left nine runners stranded in the contest.
