LAFAYETTE — Raymond Calais has committed to stay home.
Cecilia’s star running back announced his commitment to Louisiana-Lafayette on Monday night on Twitter, saying the pull to stay home was too strong to ignore.
“Over the past couple of days, I’ve sat down with my family and decided my final decision on where my football career will continue,” Calais wrote. “I’ve prayed on it, and my heart is telling me to stay home and become a Ragin’ Cajun.”
Calais is the 17th commitment for the Cajuns’ 2016 class. He also had offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Southern, Southern Miss, Nicholls State and McNeese State.
