Cajuns’ game against McNeese State rained out

LAFAYETTE — The Louisiana-Lafayette baseball team tried to wait out the weather to get a Wednesday night contest in against McNeese State, but after two hours of steady rain with some lightning added to the mix, the two teams decided to call it a night.

The rain actually cleared up shortly after the game was officially called off, but radar showed some severe weather headed in Lafayette’s direction.

The two teams wanted to get Wednesday night’s game in because it was the last chance either team would’ve had to play the other this season.

The Cajuns only have two available midweek dates left this season — May 10 and 11, between the UT-Arlington and South Alabama series — but McNeese has a two-game series scheduled against Baylor for those dates.
