LAFAYETTE — If the Louisiana-Lafayette men’s basketball team had its druthers, the coaches would use this weekend to recruit while the players relaxed.
That being said, the Cajuns will take another day to play basketball over their season being done, and they’ll do just that Saturday afternoon against Furman.
The Cajuns found out Thursday morning they’d be playing Furman in Greenville, South Carolina, at 1 p.m. Saturday for a second-round matchup of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT). Furman defeated the Cajuns’ Sun Belt Conference rival UL-Monroe in the first round.
There was a possibility the Cajuns could’ve had a second-round bye, but the chips didn’t fall right in the first round.
