Statesboro, Ga. – Malachi Seraphin-Williams had a career-high 15 points, but the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns dropped a 63-60 decision to Georgia Southern on Thursday evening at Hanner Fieldhouse.
Georgia Southern (9-12, 5-5 SBC), which has won four of its past five games, jumped out to an early 7-0 lead with 8:16 left in the first quarter. The Eagles led 13-1 when Patrice Butler made a layup with 4:15 left in the first period.
Louisiana (11-8, 5-5 SBC) then went on an 11-1 run and Jasmine Thomas made a jumper while being fouled and knocked down the free throw with five seconds to go in the quarter to cut the Georgia Southern lead to 14-12 at the end of the first frame.
