Cajuns blank Pioneers 4-0 for sweep

LAFAYETTE — Behind another sterling outing from freshman right-hander Nick Lee and some speed on the base paths, Louisiana-Lafayette beat Sacred Heart 4-0 Sunday to clinch a series sweep.

Lee allowed just three hits while striking out six in six strong innings of work and the Cajuns (8-4) used an aggressive running approach to account for most of their offensive output against the Pioneers (0-6).

Lee only allowed three runners to reach scoring position all game, and limited Sacred Heart (0-6) to an 0-for-5 effort with three strikeouts in those situations. He located his fastball well all day and worked quickly, averaging just over 12 pitches per inning.
