LAFAYETTE, La. – The 20th-ranked Louisiana baseball team couldn't overcome a four-run first inning by Wright State as the Cajuns fell 8-2 in the 2018 home opener at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
The Ragin' Cajuns (1-4) were outhit 7-4 in the contest by the Raiders (1-3) in front of a crowd of 5,196, the sixth largest crowd in program history.
Starter Jack Burk was handed his second loss of the season despite posting a quality start going 7.0 innings with five runs (three earned) on five hits, a walk and four strikeouts. Burk retired 14 of the last 15 hitters he faced in the game.
