LAFAYETTE — Though they emerged from the contest with their seventh win in eight games, the Louisiana-Lafayette women did not have one of their best offensive performances in a 61-42 win against UC-Santa Barbara on Tuesday.
“We didn’t play like we normally do, especially on the offensive side,” said coach Garry Brodhead. “We didn’t have as much control as we usually do.”
A strong showing in the first and fourth quarters masked what was largely a rough go for the Cajuns’ offense.
They scored 15 points in the first 5:42, then proceeded to miss 21 of their next 30 shots from the field, allowing the Gauchos to trim a 15-point deficit down to eight even as they struggled to nail down shots of their own.
