LAFAYETTE – No. 16 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball increased its season-opening win streak to six games with a 9-4 win over Oregon State on Thursday at Lamson Park.
The Ragin' Cajuns (6-0) answered an early run from the Beavers (4-2) with a string of eight unanswered to take control.
Summer Ellyson started and tossed four strong innings, then Kylee Jo Trahan closed out OSU with a strikeout in a bases-loaded situation in the fifth inning and a pair of scoreless frames afterwards.
Lexie Comeaux's first home run of the young season, a two-run shot in the fourth inning, upped the lead to 8-1 and put the exclamation point on Louisiana's commanding triumph.
