When the Los Angeles Rams open training camp in 11 days, there will probably be more eyes on Stetson Bennett than Matthew Stafford. Which is an especially bold prediction given that Stafford’s contract situation is up in the air, but Bennett returning to the Rams for training camp when some felt that unlikely after last season’s absence is what adds fuel to the fire for the second-year quarterback. (First year, in some ways.)
It doesn’t hurt that Bennett is also one of the most popular players on the team, getting more attention for what he doesn’t do than what most players get for what they actually do, so a return to training camp after not missing any offseason practices will bring even more fans in to ask if the two-time national champion could make the 53-man roster.
