For what seems like the first time since very early in the Sean McVay era, the Los Angeles Rams are investing heavily in the offensive line. Early in McVay’s tenure, the Rams paid players like Andrew Whitworth and John Sullivan and the offense reaped the rewards because of it. They’ve done much of the same over the last two years, drafting Steve Avila high in the draft and then signing players like Jonah Jackson and Kevin Dotson to large contracts in free agency
This type of investment in the offensive line isn’t something that’s typically seen in the Shanahan system.
