One of the primary goals for the Los Angeles Rams this offseason was very clearly to add experience to the secondary. Following a season in which the Rams rotated Derion Kendrick, Cobie Durant, Russ Yeast, and others in the secondary, the primary goal became to add some veterans to the group.
Ever since the Rams hired Brandon Staley as their defensive coordinator and implemented the Vic Fangio style of defense, the entire ethos has been to limit explosive plays, especially in the passing game. In 2020, the Rams ranked second in explosive play play rate through the air.
