Records are meant to be broken and the Los Angeles Rams had a pair of franchise icons cemented into NFL history. I’m referring of course to Hall of Fame quarterback Norm Van Brocklin and wide receiver Flipper Anderson. Both men set NFL single-game records that have stood for quite some time.
Most amazingly is Van Brocklin’s 554 passing yards that he set back in the 1951 season opener. That’s right, “the Dutchman” set an NFL single-game passing yardage record that has stood for 72 years and counting(!)
72 years ago today, QB Norm Van Brocklin set an NFL record by passing for 554 yards in a single game, during the @RamsNFL's 52-14 win over the New York Yanks.
