ST. LOUIS -- Despite St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher playing it coy for most of the week, there was little doubt that newly-signed receiver Wes Welker would make his debut with the team less than a week after signing.
That's precisely what happened as Welker was active and involved for the Rams against the Chicago Bears at the Edward Jones Dome. Also as expected, Welker's role primarily came in third-down packages, where quarterback Nick Foles didn't hesitate to target him early.
Welker made his first catch with 5:57 to go in the first quarter as he dived to haul in a 6-yard grab, which came up a yard short of the first down.
