Three weeks into the season and it’s looking like a down year for the once-mighty NFC West. The Arizona Cardinals, one of the NFC preseason favorites to reach the Super Bowl, have stumbled to a 1-2 start after sleep-walking in an early start (for them) in Buffalo. They were outgained 142-2 in the first quarter of what became a 33-18 loss.
It was 10 a.m., Phoenix time, at kickoff. When asked if that was an issue, crusty Arizona coach Bruce Arians snarled: “That’s bull (. . . .). We were 7-1 on the road last year with the same preparation.
