The final weekend of the NFL regular season looms, a time when there are no Thursday, Saturday or Monday contests. All games are played on Sunday, and both networks that televise afternoon games, CBS and Fox, are allowed to show doubleheaders. Normally, just one shows two games.
The NBC wraps things up in prime time, and is customary for the final day has a game with key playoff implications. This time its San Francisco-Seattle, with the victor winning the NFC West title and the loser gets a wild-card playoff slot.
