With the deadline to tag players scheduled for Wednesday, it looks like the Rams have made the move with Johnson official for the 2017 season.
Los Angeles has officially placed the franchise tag on Johnson for the second-straight season, scheduling him to be the league’s highest-paid cornerback. Johnson may not have displayed the best year in 2016, but it appears the Rams would rather spend a ton of money for their beloved cornerback for the 2017 season instead of risking a long-term deal.
