LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams lost their second game of the season by a 27-20 score, but Todd Gurley thinks it would've been a lot more lopsided if this were last year's team.
"It would've been 27-3," Gurley said, "instead of just as an offense being able to put points on the board and being able to keep our defense in it. It's a start."
The Rams were coming off an impressive, uplifting 46-9 rout of the Indianapolis Colts in their season opener. Their defense played poorly against the Washington Redskins in Week 2, but their offense -- last in the NFL in yards each of the past two seasons -- found ways to create enough explosive plays to keep them in the game.
