ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams opened Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers using a no-huddle approach in hopes of getting a much-needed spark. As it turned out, the spark they needed came from the guy who is capable of bringing the fireworks any time he touches the ball.
Running back Todd Gurley had six carries for 15 yards in the opening quarter but he quickly rectified that and his team's offensive woes with a 71-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.
With 10:25 left in the first half, Gurley took a handoff from quarterback Nick Foles and darted through the right side with key blocks from pulling left guard Garrett Reynolds and right tackle Rob Havenstein.
